A crawler undercarriage refers to the complete chassis system of a machine, consisting of frame, drive unit, tension and running rollers, and the actual crawler track. The crawler track is the part of the system that transfers power to the ground via steel or rubber tracks. It is therefore a central, but not the only, component of the undercarriage.
